Dr. Maloney shares her life with her husband and high school sweetheart, Jess, their young daughter, Mallory, and their four playful dogs: two Chihuahuas named Dave and Poppy, a King Charles Cavalier named Bixby, and a Whippet named Pogo. They also have three spirited rats: Slick, Frizzy, and Freddie. When she’s not at the clinic, Dr. Maloney loves to travel and spend quality time with family and friends.
With a lifelong dedication to animal welfare, Dr. Maloney is excited to serve Carolina Forest and the surrounding community. We look forward to welcoming you and your pets to our practice.

Marie Moody
Veterinary Assistant
As a recent graduate with a degree in Animal Science, Marie brings a strong foundation in animal care and a passion for advancing animal health to her role as a Veterinary Assistant/Technician. Her academic journey, combined with hands-on experience, has prepared her to provide compassionate and knowledgeable support in a veterinary setting.
During her studies, Marie participated in a study abroad program in Thailand, gaining valuable hands-on veterinary experience. This immersive opportunity exposed her to diverse animal care techniques and reinforced her adaptability in fast-paced environments.
She has also gained practical experience through kennel work and as an active volunteer with her university’s Pre-Vet Club. These roles enhanced her skills in animal handling, client communication, and teamwork while deepening her understanding of veterinary medicine.
Originally from Greensboro, N.C., Marie recently moved to the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach with her three dogs and is excited to begin this new chapter. She is passionate about advocating for animals, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve.
As a new member of this vibrant community, Marie looks forward to contributing her skills and dedication to the well-being of every pet entrusted to her care.
